FY24 Scholarship Info and Application (open)


SWE Tucson is proud to offer a scholarship to eligible engineering students in the Tucson area! The FY24 scholarship recipient will receive a $1000 award paid to their Fall tuition account. Applicants are asked to submit an essay describing how SWE and other organizations have had an impact on their collegiate career (see essay prompt below). Applications are due by 11:59pm on April 12th, 2024.

Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled either as a(n)
    • undergraduate student majoring in engineering at the University of Arizona
    • student majoring in pre-engineering or other STEM field at Pima Community College
  • Must be a paid SWE member at the time of award for the Fall 2024 semester
  • Must be graduating in or after December 2024

Award Amount: $1000

The scholarship recipient will be notified by April 16th, 2024.

Essay Topic:

In 500 to 1000 words describe:

  • What have you learned from being involved with SWE and/or other organizations at the University of Arizona or Pima Community College?
  • How do you think this knowledge will help you in the future as your explore your educational/career goals?

Essay Contest Guidelines:

  • Essays will be judged based on organization, detail, and content.
  • All essays must be the original work of the author submitting the entry.
  • A contestant may enter only one essay.
  • A contestant does not have to be a paid SWE collegiate member to enter the contest.
  • A panel of judges will read all entries. Their selections will be final.
